Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation in Mogadishu, Benadir Region

Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation in Mogadishu, Benadir Region

The Somali National Youth Policy has been a topic of discussion and consultation for many years. The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports has been working tirelessly to prepare, sponsor, and design a policy that will shape the future of Somali youth.

The policy aims to strengthen the capacity of youth development institutions and promote coordination among different youth programs. Recently, the Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation was held in Mogadishu, presided over by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mohamed Barre Mohamud.

This workshop was part of a series of six (6) that will continue in the five Federal Member States.

The National Youth Policy Validation Workshop was a great success, with participants from various organizations and groups. The workshop provided a platform for consultation and feedback on the National Youth Policy. It allowed for the collection of ideas and recommendations that will help shape the policy’s finalization process.

The participants included youth-led organizations, youth associations, youth immigrants, and youth disability groups.

During the workshop, Minister Barre emphasized the importance of empowering Somali youth. He further stated that the national youth policy would create a conducive environment for youth development and promote their participation in decision-making processes. He further added that the policy would create opportunities for economic empowerment and the promotion of peace and security in Somalia.

The Somali National Youth Policy aims to address issues affecting youth in Somalia, such as education, employment, health, gender equality, and youth participation in governance. The policy will also work towards protecting the rights of young people and promoting their meaningful engagement in peacebuilding and conflict prevention.

The implementation of this policy will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping the future of Somali youth.

The National Workshop on Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation was a significant milestone towards the finalization of the policy.

The participation of different youth groups and organizations showcased their commitment to youth development in Somalia.

The Somali National Youth Policy provides a much-needed framework for coordination and collaboration among different youth programs.

Hopefully, with the policy’s finalisation and implementation, the future of Somali youth will be bright and promising.
