Kismaayo, Jubaland: Somalia’s youth have been the focus of many discussions and consultations for years. The government has been working hard to develop a policy that will shape the future of the
country’s youth.
Recently, the federal ministry of youth and sports, in coordination with the ministry of youth and sports of Jubaland, held the Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation in Kismaayo.
The event was overseen by Aways Mohamed Hussein, the minister of Youth and Sports of Somalia’s Jubaland State.The Somali National Youth Policy Consultation and Validation brought together various
stakeholders, including representatives from the federal and state governments, civil society organizations, and youth groups.
The event aimed to review and validate the national youth policy drafted by the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, which will guide the government’s efforts in developing and implementing programs
that address the needs and priorities of Somali youth.
The consultation process was comprehensive, with participants discussing various issues that affect Somali youth, such as education, employment, health, and participation in governance.
The discussions were fruitful, with participants highlighting the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for Somalia’s youth. They also shared best practices and proposed innovative solutions to
address the issues facing this important demographic.

The Somali National Youth Policy will guide the government’s future efforts to improve the lives of Somali youth. The policy is centered around four thematic areas, namely education, employment, health,
and youth participation in governance.
